A public art project interweaves light and sound at the Daihonzan Zojoji Temple and its surrounding areas in Shiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo. The architectural and topographical data of the Daihonzan Zojoji Temple were analyzed and coded using programming. A virtual space was generated with embedded information, which was then converted into light and sound. The light and sound emitted by the balloon-shaped devices changed according to the movements of the audience. The dance company ELEVENPLAY, led by director/choreographer MIKIKO, performed simultaneously, moving freely across various stages and venues scattered throughout the site. Miu Sakamoto’s voice enveloped the participants as they walked around the Daihonzan Zojoji Temple, guided by 1,000 devices.
